The 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP17) happens on the 4th December 2011 in Durban.

This  Faith petition (http://www.wehavefaithactnow.org/) was created by Pan African Faith Based and Youth Mobilization towards COP17 in Durban. It is spearheaded by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. They ask everyone to pray for a binding climate change agreement on 4th December.

The petition states:

We call on our leaders to fight for a just and legally binding climate treaty!
We call on our negotiators to treat the Earth with respect, resist disorder and live in peace with each other, including embracing a legally binding climate treaty.
Africa must unite, and with one voice speak out for the justice of the poor in Africa and beyond!
