Earth Hour 2017 takes place  on Saturday March 25th at 8:30 pm. As we get closer to the day this page will fill up with information on how your church can take part and stories about what other churches are planning.

Over the past two years 150 churches across Scotland have taken part. To find out what some of them did you can download our report here: Earth Hour Report 2014.

Here is a short film showing the global impact of Earth Hour 2015:

Eco-Congregation Scotland is working with WWF Scotland to encourages churches to take part in Earth Hour.

From WWF:

Earth Hour is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world.   Born out of a hope that we could mobilize people to take action on climate change, Earth Hour now inspires a global community of millions of people in 7,001 cities and towns across 152 countries and territories to switch lights off for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.

This is how to take part:

Step 1

Register to take part on the WWF Earth Hour website – click here.

You will also be able to see on the map who else is taking part near you.

Step 2

We have produced a  special information pack for churches wishing to take part (a 3MB PDF file suitable for printing or emailing).
