Earth Hour for Churches

Join churches from around Scotland marking Earth Hour – download a free information pack today.

Earth Hour 2016 takes place  on Saturday March 19th at 8:30 pm. As we get closer to the day this page will fill up with information on how your church can take part and stories about what other churches are planning.

Over the past two years 150 churches across Scotland have taken part. To find out what some of them did you can download our report here: Earth Hour Report 2014.

Here is a short film showing the global impact of last year’s Earth Hour:

Eco-Congregation Scotland is working with WWF Scotland to encourages churches to take part in Earth Hour.

From WWF:

Earth Hour is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world.   Born out of a hope that we could mobilize people to take action on climate change, Earth Hour now inspires a global community of millions of people in 7,001 cities and towns across 152 countries and territories to switch lights off for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.

We have produced a  special information pack for churches wishing to take part (a 3MB PDF file suitable for printing or emailing).
