19 March 2007

Your invitation to participate in a Christian Film Festival with a green theme.

Could you re-tell the parables of Jesus from an ecological perspective? Does your church have a story to tell about an environmental project? Could you help people reflect on what it is to follow Christ in the midst of Climate Change? Entries are being requested for the fourth SAMYP (St Andrew’s Multimedia Youth Project) Film Festival.

This initiative from St Andrew’s Bo’ness has teamed up with Eco-Congregation for a festival entitled “Eco Warriors”.

Your five-minute drama, documentary or meditation will be based on one of the Eco-Congregation themes:

  • Spiritual – make the link between environmental issues and Christian faith
  • Practical – take practical action in the church
  • Community – Influence attitudes and take action in the local or global community

All of the films will be made in a two-week period in March-April, and editing equipment and training is available. There will be a introductory session at Renfield St Stephen’s church in Glasgow to explain about the film festival, explain about the theme, to ask questions and to see examples of previous entrants, on Saturday 31 March at 11am.

For more information visit the SAMYP website or contact them by email  (samypatblueyonderdotcodotuk)   to ask questions or register your interest.
