Where: Burnside Blairbeth Church, their website: http://www.burnsideblairbethchurch.org/
When: 20th June 2012

The topic of the meeting is yet to be confirmed!

The last meeting took place at Cadzow Parish Church.  Here is the Agenda from the February 2012 meeting: 120222 South Lanarkshire network agenda. The theme of the meeting was Love Food Hate Waste and Jonathan Kneeshaw from SLCAN came to tell us about it.

Did you know that:

o 25% of UK food ends up in landfill sites
o The average Scottish household throws away £430 of food each year
o This amounts to over half a million tonnes of food waste
o Over two thirds of this food waste is avoidable
o Avoidable food waste in Scotland produces 1.7 million tonnes of Carbon Dioxide
o If the avoidable food waste were consumed, it would be equivalent to taking one in four of the cars off the road?
