Principally the award was awarded for:

• The link between the Pastoral Council and the Peace and Justice Council to work on the Eco-Congregation programme.
• Involvement of all ages in the work.
• Achieving a consistent reduction in the amount of printed material produced by the church, thus saving paper and other resources.
• Organising and participating in the successful Green Fair event
