On Sunday 28th October, at the morning sacrament of Communion, the Reverend Barbara Ann Sweetin accepted, on behalf of the congregation of Forfar East & Old parish church, their first Eco Award.

The plaque was handed over by Margaret Scrimgeour a member of the congregation’s Green Committee who reminded the 300 people who were present that morning what they had done to gain the Award. This has included recycling, reusing pew wood in a number of ways, supporting the Fair Trade stall every Sunday, having dedicated services and Bible Studies as well as working hard in the church yard to make it tidier and more attractive for the community as well as the congregation. Barbara Ann herself has been an inspirational leader in the process.
