Invitation to “Campaigning for Clean Air Neighbourhoods” training day, 8th October.

From Friends of the Earth Scotland:

Air pollution continues to plague our towns and cities in Scotland, but next year’s local elections provide an opportunity to focus our councillors’ hearts and minds on delivering clean air.

That’s why you are invited to attend “Campaigning for Clean Air Neighbourhoods”, a training day designed to support you to campaign for clean air and a healthier environment in your neighbourhood.

It will take place on Saturday 8th October in Glasgow from 10am – 4pm. Registration is free and lunch will be provided.

The event will include participative workshops and we’ll hear from Edinburgh University air pollution specialist Dr Mark Miller.

Workshops will include:

  • How to successfully campaign for better local walking and cycling facilities,
  • Getting your council to crack down on vehicle fumes
  • Get trees planted in your local area, and
  • Social media skills to raise your campaign’s profile

The event will be brought to you by Friends of the Earth Scotland, Friends of the Earth Glasgow, and We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote.
