Register your congregation to take part in Climate Week 2017

Climate Week is a Scottish Government campaign to raise awareness of, and inspire action on, climate change. This year it will be taking place 18-22 September.

The aim of Climate Week is to get organisations across Scotland hosting one – or several – events that highlight the importance of reducing emissions and adapting to a changing climate.

Climate Week presents a great opportunity for eco-congregations to engage and inspire staff and the public. Whether you run one event or several, you’ll find out what people think, get some conversation going and enable further climate friendly actions.

We would like as many congregations as possible to sign up and take part this year.

Above is a video from Scottish Government, highlighting some of the thinking behind establishing the Climate Week campaign. It also provides a taster of the events the Scottish Government organised for their Climate Week in 2015.

How to participate

  1. An organisation must host at least one event during Climate Week 2017 (18-22 September). Events can be aimed at colleagues, clients, partners, or the public.

Resources

The event ideas page provides a number of ideas to help with event planning.  Additionally there are also a number of case studies from organisations who took part in Climate Week in previous years.

And let us know if you have registered and what you are doing. Photographs and videos afterwards will help encourage others to take part next year.
