A new Eco-Congregation network has been established in the Dumfries & Galloway area. All interested churches in the area are very welcome to join in!
the next meetings of the group will take place on Wednesday, 8th September in St George’s Church Dumfries, when the group will focus on the topic of carbon footprint reduction, and on Wednesday, 3rd November in Dunscore, where the theme will be Renewable Energy.
Eco-congregations in Fife are in the process of building up a local network. A sub group will meet later in June, to prepare an event this autumn to promote and explain Eco-Congregation Scotland to local churches and involve other local environmental organisations.

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. CSV’s Action Earth campaign wants to empower people to take action in their community. To do this, we have grants of £250 to give to groups of volunteers who are carrying out practical environment projects in Scotland.
Our SNH Biodiversity Awards of £250 are available for practical conservation projects that improve or create habitats for wildlife or assist in the protection of Scottish species. Projects have included wildflower meadow planting, pond renovation, woodland clearances and wildlife area creation. Grants can be used to purchase plants, tools and materials or to cover volunteer expenses.
Please go to www.actionearth.org.uk for more information. You can download application forms or apply online. We do hope that you will be able to participate in the campaign which runs until 31st July 2010. If you have any questions about the campaign or any planned project please contact:
