Give an hour for Earth
WWF’s Earth Hour 2024 is fast approaching at 8.30pm on Saturday 23rd March. We hope that you will join Eco-Congregation Scotland volunteers and churches who are already taking part with millions across the globe, uniting to show how much we care about people and planet.
There’s still time to get involved. To help you prepare and promote your participation, we are keen to support WWF Scotland by sharing their Earth Hour Scotland webpage with lots of ideas for how to get involved this year – and resources that you can use to celebrate Earth Hour online and encourage others to take part.
Will you join us in doing something positive for nature and help bring our world back to life? Please follow these 3 simple steps to give an hour for Earth:
- Find out more at wwf.org.uk/scotland/earthhour
- Join the Facebook event
- Share your plans on social media using #EarthHourScotland @WWFScotland
Most activities suggested are suitable for both individuals and small groups to take part in Earth Hour. You can also:
Take the first step together: Nature is in crisis and it’s up to all of us to fix it. Share WWF’s Footprint Calculator to calculate your personal impact – and make a plan to reduce it.
Organise a watch party: Screen a short environmental film and see who else is interested in the topic.
Support wellbeing: Promote WWF’s Thriving with Nature booklet, co-created with the Mental Health Foundation, exploring the relationship between nature, wellbeing and mental health.
Please let us know if there is anything we can help with, or to tell us what you are up to help inspire others to take action too. Don’t forget to join the conversation and show your support online: @WWFScotland #EarthHourScotland
