The Edinburgh Evening News reports that there is a long waiting list of Edinburgh residents waiting for allotments to grow fruit and vegetables. There are plans do something about this:

An area almost three times the size of Princes Street Gardens would be transformed into allotments under plans being considered by city leaders.
