Cairngorms National Park: caring for the future

October 6, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Tania Alliod, Cairngorms National Park learning & engagement officer, to hear all about action to tackle the climate emergency in and around the UK’s largest national park, a special place not just for its unique wildlife and habitats, but for the people who live and work there.

In Caring for the Park’s Future, the vision is for an outstanding National Park, enjoyed and valued by everyone, where nature and people thrive together.

It is easy to feel powerless in the face of a global climate emergency and nature crisis. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Inspired by the Gaelic word “Dùthchas” – the deep-rooted connection between people and nature – Heritage Horizons: Cairngorms 2030 is putting the power to tackle the climate and nature crises in the hands of people who live, visit and work in the UK’s largest national park.

Heritage Horizons’ long-term projects will bring about transformational change in the Cairngorms, benefitting people’s health and wellbeing, delivering on climate change and enhancing nature across the National Park. The programme is on a larger scale than anything previously attempted in the UK and aims to inspire rural and urban communities throughout Scotland and beyond to take action and make a difference.

Join the community drop-ins this week in Nethy Bridge and Braemar – or register below for the Zoom meeting link to hear more with us on Thursday evening.
