Eco-Congregation Scotland Extraordinary General Meeting
Wednesday 11th December 2024 7.30pm to 8.30pm Williamwood Parish Church Hall, 4 Vardar Avenue, Clarkston, Glasgow G76 7QP and online
Trustees of Eco-Congregation Scotland invite Full Members of the charity to our online Extraordinary General Meeting. Please register below to attend and have your say on proposed Membership subscriptions and an amendment enabling Membership to be paid during the year rather than from 1 January.
Following the financial report at the charity’s Annual General Meeting on 25 May 2024 – and successful Crowdfunder appeal – it was agreed that Trustees would revert to the Membership by the end of this year for consideration of Full Member fees for 2025.
AGENDA 1. Welcome – Richard Murray, Eco-Congregation Scotland chairperson
2. Apologies for absence
3. Financial Update – Mary Sweetland, Treasurer
4. Proposed 2025 Membership subscriptions based on congregational income (simple majority required): – Income under £50,000 = no fee, donation only – Income £50,000 to £100,000 = £100 – Income over £100,000 = £200
5. Proposed amendments to constitution enabling Membership fee to be charged (75% support required): – Paragraph 26 currently reads: “The annual membership subscription falls due on the first day of January each year. This may be varied from time to time by way of an ordinary resolution passed at an annual general meeting.” – Proposed amendment to Paragraph 26: “The annual membership subscription falls due on the first day of January each year, or 12 months after the date that an initial or subsequent membership subscription has been paid if this falls on a later date. This may be varied from time to time by way of an ordinary resolution passed at an annual general meeting.”
6. Any other competent business
If you are unable to attend the AGM as the named Full Member, but wish to appoint someone else as your Proxy to take part on your behalf for your church, please select this at the foot of the registration form – or you can reply to this email with that information.
Full Members are named individuals who represent a registered eco-congregation which pays an annual fee, depending on church income, supporting the charity’s work.
If no one is able to attend the meeting from your congregation, please vote using the online options below on both the subscription fees and amendment to subscription dates.
While only Full Members can vote, observers can attend the Extraordinary General Meeting, by noting “Not applicable” to the Full Member/Proxy registration question below.
