Faith Communities and Climate Justice

November 16 @ 6:15 pm 7:30 pm

Online

As part of Scottish Interfaith Week, Interfaith Scotland will be exploring the topic of climate justice in faith communities, in conversation and dialogue with Bishop Ian Paton.

Keynote speaker

Bishop Ian Paton is the Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane in the Scottish Episcopal Church, and serves as the Convener of the SEC Provincial Environment Group, working towards achieving General Synod’s commitment in 2020 to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions in the SEC by 2030.

The SEC’s Net Zero Action Plan, adopted by General Synod, is the Church’s policy and strategy, and an accompanying Net Zero Toolkit has been created to provide extensive practical resources for congregations and groups as they work towards implementing the NZ Action Plan and to achieving the goal shared with many other faith communities in Scotland and the world.
