Perth Riverside Church has received their first Eco-Congregation Award. Congratulations!
The assessors particularly commended the congregation on the following:
- the interaction with their local community and the ways in which they have involved them in so many different creation care projects, such as work on the community allotment, vegetable growing in the grounds involving local school children and the seed saving stall at Muirton Primary, working with Muirton Park Climate Challenge Project and particularly the widespread influence on the local and wider community through the activities of the Church’s Community Worker, Keith Wellstood;
- the hard work on energy management and ongoing efforts to further reduce the carbon footprint of the church buildings; and
- the active engagement with Eco-Congregation Scotland through hosting local network meetings, which will, hopefully, help grow Eco-Congregation in the Perth area.
