Rev. Áron Kocsis would like to form a congregation partnership with a Scottish Eco-Congregation!
His congregation, the Hajdunánás Reformed Congregation, would like to invite a Scottish delegation to their Creation week (30th September to 7th Ocotber) as a first step in learning more about the Eco-Congregation programme and getting new impulses.
Here is what he writes:
Hajdunánás has apprx. 18.000 population, located at East Hungary, on the Great Plain, 40 km north from Debrecen. Our church has several mission fields: elementary school with 200 pupils, kindergarten with 110 children, elderly home where live 70 people. In our mission vision preaching, serving and teaching are in close unity. We believe, than this approach contains the empower and encourage of Christian faith and the responsibility of our world. This is the reason why our congregation is deeply involved of the eco-congregation movement practically and theoretically.
Peak of this mission is the Creation week, when we celebrate the God-created world and turn attention our responsibility and possibility “to work it and take care of it” (Gen 2,15). This will be the third time when we organise a whole week project program for our students and hold a special Sunday service.
As a first step [in forming a partnership with a Scottish Eco-Congregation], we would welcome a delegation during Creation week ( Sept 30- Oct 7) in our church. Members of delegation would see our work and the personal meeting will help for the further partnership. If delegation will to visit us, I suggest to come at the end of the week (Oct 5-7). You will visit not just our church, but also our partner congregation, Telkibánya (Hungary).
