Eco-congregations across the country are invited to sign up online to Scotland’s Climate Change Pledge for Communities to express their support and commitment to taking local action on climate change.
This Pledge links grass-roots, community activities into the bigger picture – contributing towards Scotland’s ambitious targets to cut greenhouse gasses and developing our collective resilience for the future.
Four Eco-congregations have already take the Pledge: Selkirk Parish Church, St Michael’s Parish Church of Scotland in Linlithgow, Milton of Campsie Parish Church and Wardie Parish Church.
Keep Scotland Beautiful, the charity for Scotland’s environment, manages and develops the Pledge on behalf of the Scottish Government and has developed an online signup for the Pledge. The charity has run a series of workshops to help community groups learn more about climate change and how to communicate this information with their communities.
All Eco-congregations taking the Pledge will be posted a personalised A3 certificate by Keep Scotland Beautiful.
