Do you wish issues like woodland expansion, the plight of pollinators, marine conservation, climate change, and society’s disconnection from nature were higher up the political agenda? The 2016 elections are a key opportunity to make sure that in the next Scottish parliament, they are.
Scottish Environment LINK is asking local communities to host Nature Cafés, where you can meet candidates in a more informal setting than a hustings, discuss these issues with them, and invite them to sign the Wildlife Proclamation, a pledge to act for nature if elected. This initiative is being organised by former Eco-Congregation Co-ordinator Eleanor Harris.
If you might be interested in hosting a Nature Café, have a look at the information on the website, http://www.scotlink.org/holyrood-2016-elections-2/the-wildlife-proclamation/#tabs-4, and contact Eleanor if you have any questions on 01786 460 360 (Monday & Tuesday only) or eleanor.harris@buglife.org.uk.
