Our 2018 Annual Gathering and AGM took place on Saturday at Augustine United Church in Edinburgh. 105 people attended from as far away as Orkney and Leeds. Feedback from the event was very good and we would like to thank all the speakers, volunteers, the staff at Augustine and all those who participated.
Theme
The theme this year was “Pass the Planet”: what are we leaving to the next generation and what sort of world are we we leaving them.
Speakers
The speakers were:
Ross Greer MSP: A Member of the Scottish Parliament in the West of Scotland for the Green Party. Ross is 24 years old and was only 21 when elected.
He is a member of the Cross-Party Group on Freedom of Religion or Belief and the Cross-Party Group on Consumer Protection for Home Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
Ross is from Bearsden and is a member of Bearsden Cross Parish Church.
Hannah Mary-Goodlad: Was moderator of the Church of Scotland Youth Assembly in 2015 and is on the Scottish committee of Christian Aid. While Youth Assembly Moderator, Hannah worked with Christian Aid on joint projects around climate change and she will be speaking about that. She also works in renewable energy.
Dr Ruth Valerio: is Global Advocacy and Influencing Director at TearFund. Prior to this she worked for the Christian Conservation organisation A Rocha.
Ruth has written extensively on justice, environment and lifestyle issues, has been part of the leadership team of Spring Harvest and a member of the Evangelical Alliance Board.
