The Scottish Government has published its Climate Change Plan 2018-2032. A copy can be downloaded here (PDF file).
The Plan sets out the Scottish Government’s action towards meeting the emissions reduction targets under the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 and includes chapters covering sectors of the Scottish economy, including: Electricity, Buildings, Transport, Industry, Waste, LULUCF (Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry – essentially forestry and peatlands), and Agriculture.
The Plan, together with their Energy Strategy, which was published in December, and their new Climate Change Bill (set for introduction in the Scottish Parliament in spring), will deliver a low-carbon transition for Scotland which promotes social inclusion and sustainable growth.
The Climate Change Plan includes input from churches who took part in our Climate Conversations:
Thank you to everyone who took part. As this policy development is an ongoing process we will continue to inform the government through an ongoing programme of Climate Conversations.
