The historic St Michael’s Parish Church in Linlithgow was awarded a Climate Challenge Fund grant to run the EMPOWERING St Michael’s and Linlithgow project to replace inefficient lighting in the ‘Grade A’ listed building with modern LED technology. The LED lighting will substantially reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions and aims to inspire the community to take similar action at home.
The grant was used to fund:
- Installation of LED lighting and rewiring costs.
- Awareness raising campaign – promotional and display items.
- LED bulbs and energy monitors for community to try in own homes before buying.
- Office / administration costs.
