This year’s Heart and Soul event takes place in Edinburgh on Sunday 18th of May. Full details can be found here: http://www.heartandsoul2014.org.uk. This year’s theme is “Hands Across the World”.
The event is run by the Church of Scotland as part of its General Assembly week, but in previous years has had visitors from other denominations.
This year Eco-Congregation Scotland will be running a stall encouraging people to pledge one small change to their behaviour over the next six months which will help reduce their carbon footprint. The connection with the event theme is that our environmental activities here have a bad effect on people living in developing countries. This connects well with the work of Christian Aid, who are also exhibiting.
We are having special pledge cards printed (see below) and would like some volunteers to approach people and encourage them to make a pledge. We will have information and suggestions available to them on things they could do. Six months after the event we will post the cards to the people who filled them out to remind them of their pledge and also about the work of Eco-Congregation Scotland.
