After worship in Yetholm last Sunday, the Baton nestled amongst the potatoes as part of Linton Kirk’s Harvest Festival, joining the reflection on the effect of the environment on staple crops and Emigration.
It started the weekend with a tour of Yetholm and Morebattle Primary school where it went round all the classes as they chatted about being kind to the world and the message they wanted to pass on to Conference in December. Each school’s Eco Committee gathered to talk about the purpose of the baton and the need for climate justice. As evening arrived, the baton moved to Morebattle Guild for further discussion on climate change and our message to Paris.
On the Saturday the baton spent the day at the Yetholm Shepherd Show at the stall of Cheviot Churches .
