African Faith Petition Asks For Your Support!

The 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP17) happens on the 4th December 2011 in Durban.

This  Faith petition ( was created by Pan African Faith Based and Youth Mobilization towards COP17 in Durban. It is spearheaded by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. They ask everyone to pray for a binding climate change agreement on 4th December.

The petition states:

We call on our leaders to fight for a just and legally binding climate treaty!
We call on our negotiators to treat the Earth with respect, resist disorder and live in peace with each other, including embracing a legally binding climate treaty.
Africa must unite, and with one voice speak out for the justice of the poor in Africa and beyond!
