Dunscore Parish Church in rural Dumfriesshire recently became the fourth eco-congregation in Scotland to go beyond a third award and achieve a “continuing award”. They would like to invite friends from other eco-congregations throughout Scotland to celebrate this achievement with them.
They say: “We would like to invite you to join us for a special service on Sunday 14th August at 10:00 am in Dunscore Church (we are inviting our MP, MSPs and local councillors). The service will be led by Rev Trevor Jamison, the Environmental Chaplain of Eco Congregation Scotland. During the service, the congregation will be presented with the Continuing Award.
After the service (at around 11:30 am) there will be an opportunity to walk the Jane Haining Trail round Dunscore followed (at around 12:45 pm) by a light lunch in Dunscore Church. You would be most welcome to join us for the service, the walk and the lunch but if you can only manage one or two of these, we would be delighted to see you.”
