Preparing for Paris: Carry the Baton and Become a Beacon of Hope. #COP21

paris-cop-21

Eco-Congregation Scotland is proposing to take a baton to Paris, to express the demands of churches in Scotland that negotiators agree to a deal that promotes global climate justice. The baton, which will pass around churches in Scotland throughout the summer of 2015, will take with it the hopes and aspirations of Christians across Scotland for a just and lasting settlement.

What do we propose ?

  • Greyfriars Recycling of Wood are making a baton for Eco-congregation Scotland.
  • The baton bears the message Time for Climate Justice: Churches in Scotland Demand a Deal in Paris, December 2015 and the ECS logo.
  • At the Annual Gathering in Falkirk on 25 April congregations will be invited to sign up to take the baton and pass it on during its tour of Scotland.
  • In December 2015 the baton will be taken to the UN climate change conference in Paris to share our message with other churches and delegates.

Come to the annual gathering to sign up for the baton relay! You can download a registration form here: http://www.ecocongregationscotland.org/get-involved/events/2015-annual-gathering/
