SCIAF (the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund) have published a policy paper “Powering our Common Home – setting out the path to a just energy system”:

“We all need heat, electricity and fuel in our daily lives. But often the types of energy we use causes harm to our planet and our fellow sisters and brothers. The world is facing an ecological, humanitarian and moral crisis, as we approach the point of no return from irreversible global warming and climate chaos.
Highly-polluting fossil fuels are a major driving force behind this.”
