Making a movement: a skills share and networking day for local campaign groups in Scotland and the north of England

Saturday 27 October, 12pm – 5pm

Augustine United Church, George IV Bridge Edinburgh

World Development Movement has teamed up with other NGOs who campaign on similar issues and also have local groups, to create a networking and skill share event. Whether you’re a seasoned local campaigner or interested in becoming active in a local group, the day will provide a chance for everyone to meet new people, learn something new, share ideas and experiences and come away feeling part of a movement and raring to go!

  • Hear from Oxfam’s programme officer in Azerbaijan about how campaigning makes a difference where it’s needed
  • Listen to seasoned campaigners from WDM and Amnesty International share their campaign stories
  • Meet other campaigners and together develop ideas for more effective campaigning
  • Learn new campaign skills and share your own skills and experience with others

Lunch will be provided, and there will be plenty of time to chat and network.

The afternoon will be ‘open space’ with those attending setting the agenda.

Co-organised with: Amnesty International, Christian Aid, Friends of the Earth Scotland, Jubilee Scotland, Oxfam Scotland and SCIAF.

This is a free event.  The World Development Movement can also offer travel subsidies.
