Plant a Tree for Paris

As a follow up to the landmark Paris climate change agreement, we are being encouraged to plant a tree to mark “Earth Day” on the 22nd April, the day when the agreement will be signed in  New York.  Every tree planted, of course, will absorb CO2 from the atmosphere as it grows, and will also beautify wherever it is planted.  So, you might plant a tree in your garden, or your congregation might plant one in the church grounds, or you could partner with your community to plant a tree in a  public space.  Even if you can’t find a place to plant one, you are encouraged to “hug a tree” on that date and pray for the success of the agreement as it is put into practice.
